Fallbrook Warriors defeats Escondido 27-24 Snap 13 game losing streak.

By David A. Willauer-Contributing Writer-Warriors Stadium-Fallbrook High School-Fallbrook, CA-Friday, August 29, 2025:  Last week the Warriors of Fallbrook snapped their 13 game streak on home turf as they defeated the Cougars of Escondido by a 27-24 score.

But yesterday's game was a different outcome as they suffered their first defeat at the hands of the Cougars of Canyon Springs by a 35-14 score.

The Cougars led 21-0 at the half and scored 1 touchdown in 3rd and 4th quarters.  Fallbrook's two touchdowns came as Nathan Wagner scored 1 touchdown run of 9 yards.  Teammate Carter Sanchez ran an 89 yard pick six return for a touchdown to make the final score 35-14 in favor of Canyon Springs.

John Hollcraft First Year Head Football Coach at Fallbrook:  "We needed to play a cleaner game, when we played Escondido we were penalized a lot, too much talking but we did well on the turnover battle, you can't have mistakes like that but we had some big game plays."   "When we trailed 21-0 we battled back as Nathan Wagner and Carter Sanchez did their jobs on the field:"
" You can see that our defense is starting to give up points in the first half, for us we have to work on the game mentality for us to prepare on the next contest at Valley Center" .

"In our first game vs Escondido, our squad came out full of energy on the defensive side of the ball we also used 2 qb's for us to make big plays that we needed too Our field goal kicker Alan Gutierrez gave us the 34 yarder for our victory."  said Coach Hollcraft.

Grant Hull led the Warriors with 61 yards rushing.  Teammate Harrison Jones passed for 62 yards.

The Warriors 1-1 next game will be at Valley Center on Friday, September 4th kickoff is at 7 PM.
